Looking for 1999 996 C2 Owners Manual
Greetings! First post. I just purchased a nice used 1999 C2. The info on this and other forums has been incredibly helpful. Thanks in advance to everyone whose postings will help me in my ownership experience.
I am looking for a source for an Owners Manual for my 1999 996 C2 Tiptronic coupe. It is too old to be available as a pdf file. And I have not found one from any of the "usual suspects". Does anyone know where I can find this? There's a few functions that I have not yet sorted out, and it would be helpful. As an alternative, I have found a 2001 OM for sale. It seems to me that it should be pretty close. What does everyone think of that? Am I right or wrong in that assumption? Thanks again!! |

I tried Suncoast. I tried my local dealer. Pelican does not have the manual. eBay prices are $100 - $300. Crazy.
Someone else suggested LA Porsche Dismantlers. I'm gonna try them. I have found the 2001 manual for about $25. That's why I was trying to figure out if it is more or less the same. Thanks for your feedback, folks! |

Try E-Bay. Lots of owners manuals there of different years, as well as sales lierature and repair manuals etc.

Yeah, the eBay manuals are stupid money! Everyone wants like $99+ for just a manual, and most of them have all of the books in a set for $300 or more.
I just bought the "Porsche 996 Essential Companion" book. I think it will do just as well. Although it does not include some of the little stuff on what some of the switches do and why. Trial and error. I think I've figured out most of the symbols on the heat/AC, for example. Thanks for the info and support! |

You are correct about the high cost, but keep checking. Also try a wrecking yard or do a Google search. I Purchased my 1999 from the original owner and he fortunately had all the manuals and service records. I found an original sales booklet doing the Google search last month. You may get lucky someday!

Yeah, I keep an active search for it on eBay. I am also Google'ing all the time. Looking at Porsche stuff on the internet beats most of what is on TV!
