Hi
I read somewhere that the 996 turbo motors are a different block than the NA 996 engines (lemans block?) and the turbo's are less likely to have the engine failures that these models of Porsche have. Assuming this is all true, what is the difference between the turbo and the turbo "S" models. Thanks Finn

Factory Turbo cars use an entirely different engine, from the cases up, than the normally aspirated cars. Nearly all the internals are different as well.

Turbo S came with the K24 turbos standard instead of the K16. The X50 (K24) was an upgrade to the standard K16 before the car was badged as the Turbo S.
