Engine compatibility: 2WD vs 4WD

A friend is looking to replace a blown engine in his 4wd '99 996. He found a used 100Kmile '99 2WD with non-electronic throttle where his car has the electronic throttle. Is this an easy swap and fully compatible?
Any upgrades which should be done while out? I assume the LM Eng IMS upgrade.
Thanks
Ed

just switch the intakes, might have to swap the wiring harness

IMS upgrade, plugs, spark plug tube seals, maybe coil paks, maybe chain tensioners,
consider a low temp thermostat, inspect idler pulleys, consider swapping alt and starter
replace the AOS. Those kid of things.
