I purchased my 911 and it had a club badge on the left side of the windshield above the registration sticker. I don't know if that is correct but that where it is.

Is this what you mean by a club badge?

Assume you have a 996. I have seen them on the rear vent, mounted to the side as far as possible. I have been told you need a mounting plate due to the screws on the badge not being long enough to pass through the vent. If the backing on the badge/mounting plate is metal, I would use some light foam to prevent scratching. I have a "vintage" badge (with "short" mounting screws) I'm going to mount in this location (after taking/soldering/welding) in some new mounting screws). Hope this helps.

Yes, rear vent on the tail. It's down the list on my projects, replacing side vents, new hood seal, new center stack, etc, etc....bringing my back to "factory" stock. I'll post a photo asap. Oh, when I was living in Germany, I saw several that had a metal license plate frame, holes drilled through the plate frame and badge mounted below plate to one side (on the front). This was very big with Mercedes owners who mounted them in the grill. On a side note, the Germany states can award a "Cavalier die Strasse". This was awarded for acts of kindness/assistance to other drivers in dire need. It was highly coveted and was always very proudly displayed. Tried to earn one for YEARS! I think I stopped for every broken down car on the Autobahn! Never got one, but when I get back I'll keep trying! Funny, can't remember any of the cars I helped being Porsche...hmmm.... LOL!

OK, my German is really rusty. My German friends always called the award as I stated above. The true name is: Freiwilliger Kameradschafts-Dienst. Awarded in gold, silver and bronze by the German version of the AAA (ADAC). Enough of that side track...
