2000, 996, radiator fans

Hello, newby here.
I have a 2000, 996, tip. Just wondering are both radiator fans suppose to come on when the a/c is on?
When I turn on the a/c only the passenger sides fan comes on.
Thank you

Yes, both fans should come on when the A/C is on. Lots of write ups on this.

Check the radiator fan fuses (Row C, #8 and #10, both 40A).

Check radiator fan relays (#19, 20, 21, 22). #19/21 control low speed, #20/22 control high speed. Durametric comes in handy for this so you can manually turn on the fans to test each of the relays.

Most likely the failure is the radiator fan ballast resistor (PN 996.616.101.00). It is around $100-$125. I have no idea why a friggin' resistor is so expensive.
