997 with accident history ?
I am looking at buying a 997 with a history of an accident to the right front (don't know how bad yet). I haven't taken it to the PPI yet (which obviously I will do) but, I am wondering how much that will help me.
Assuming it wasn't a major accident, how well does a 997 frame handle such a thing? I ask because many years ago, I bought a Honda Accord (front wheel drive) that was previously in an accident. Even though everything looked like it had been well repaired from the surface and underneath, I was never able to keep the steering aligned and wore through tires very quickly. Many years later I was told by a mechanic that the type of frame the Accord uses is almost impossible to restore after a collision. Would the 997 fit into a similar category? |

It depends on how hard it was hit and from what angle. In addition to a regular PPI have a body shop check it out.
