99 996 no crank
hello to all...have a 99 996 in the shop with a no crank symptom. have gotten as far as going to the start lock relay on the rear support to verify getting power from the ign switch. the workshop manual and mitchell schematics show the yellow/violet/brown wire going from the start lock relay to the start lock pin on the dme. i followed the wire from the relay and it goes to the tiptronic module. has anyone out there run into this situation before? it is an automatic transmission...thanks in advance for any assistance...mike

Check that the DME is receiving a correct immobilizer signal.

Take a look at the cables running from the battery to the starter, they are notorious for getting corrosion inside the cable ends, raising the electrical resistance, and causing all sorts of issues.
