Help with 996 scavenge pump

to make a long story short, got a replacement engine for the 996 but the rear scavenge pump is not the same. Can the old one (dirty motor) replace the new one (clean motor) ??

The new pump is very different, I wonder if its plumbed for an external cooler? Is the another open non matching port on the engine that looks like a return?

Is the replacement an X51 engine? That looks like the "north-west passage" oil return system for an X51, and if it is, I wouldn't be changing anything............
