Looking for a good Carburetor rebuilder.
My post has nothing to do with rebuilding a 911 carburetor but I thought someone on the forum could steer me in the right direction. I'm looking to have a couple of Holley carburetors from a Volvo Marine engine rebuilt (the boat sank and was submerged in saltwater for 24 hours). After we salvaged the boat we cleaned things up, changed oil etc, started and ran the engines until they got up to operating temp.
We are now in the process of replacing electrical components and cleaning up the fuel system. We work on marine Diesel engines primarily so don't have much info regarding carburetors. I have found a few companies online but after checking their reviews I don't feel good about sending them to these companies. Any suggestions??

What model of Holley carbs are they?
I may know a guy... Does old Holleys and Slobberjets. Don't know how he is with marine carbs. He doesn't do refinishing, but is a MASTER on these old carbs. Lemme know. Carter P.S. I can also tell you who NOT to send it to... |

I posted your question on a boat forum I belong to where most of the members' boats have Holley carbs. Here's the initial response, followed by a validation from another member.
Hobbs Carburetor Shop in Pelham,NH. Phone No. was (603) 672-3349. The best there is hands down |
