What is this box?

I'm replacing the radio on my 87 carrera and had to remove this first. It was mounted under the dash , directly under the radio, with a 12 volt line attached. (I'm a newbie so take it easy on me).

I think that is the Cruise Control Module.

Just removed the cruise control brain on my 83 SC (from the frunk behind the fresh air blower cover) but thought I saw something similar under my dash. Did the cruise control brain get relocated from the SC to the Carrera and I'm just seeing something different under my dash?
