Timing 996

Just installed a L.N ims bearing and am having trouble getting car to idle correctly.
I am getting an OBD error code # P1531 Cam Shaft Adjustment/ Bank 1...short to short.

Does anyone know how to correct this? I used the L/N install kit at installation and felt like all went well. But I guess I was wrong.

Car starts right up but then dies when it tries to idle. Once car is warmed up it will
only idle at 600 rpm but not real smoothly.

Does anyone have any thoughts?? Help.. thanks in advance Bob

The code you are getting is usually for a non functional VarioCam unit (cam is not changing due to an open circuit); check your wiring for the cam solenoid on bank #1 and for the cam position senor on the same bank.

Thanks

JFP, Really appreciate the suggestion. Where is the cam position senor located? I know where to solenoid. I'll let you know the outcome. Again thanks!
