996 - C4S, 40th Ann or TT. IMS too? Long Term Cost?

I have a 3.2 that I love and plan to keep. I am considering buying a 996 given the market and to add to my driving pleasure.

I know the 996 has its detractors and supporters. I am looking at either the C4s, TT or 2002 40th Anniversary edition due to the improved look and larger engines. Also, I tend to like the interior of the 996 better than its successor.

Given all of the IMS posts, does the C4S, 2002 40th Ann ed. and TT all suffer from the same IMS issue? I believe I read on a post that TT engine is obviously different and may be immune from this failure. Is that true for the C4S and 40th Ann Ed. too.

Is there a big difference in the long term cost of ownership / maintenance between three? Thoughts and opinions are appreciated.

The TT is the only you of the cars you listed that does not suffer from the IMS issue. It is immune.

TT is the way to go. Best most reliable engine to date.

Love my 40AE... but would love to have a TT too.
When you change the clutch on either of your other choices... updating the IMS makes for peaceful slumbers.

Technically, the tires would be more for the wider rear wheels on the TT. But hardly a real concern.
I don't know about the maintenance on a 4wd porsche v. the 2wd.

IIRC, the GT2 and GT3 have the same engine block as the TT.
