Please educate me on Mezger engines!
Specifically the 997.1TT version! I just bought a 2007 997TT and have heard about the 3.6L TT Mezger engine that these cars are based on. Sure I can google it but I'd rather hear it from you guys! What say you Pelicans? I've heard that they're a "pretty decent" engine....!!!:

Congrats on the Turbo! I just got mine in March. It's my first modern P-car ever and I really love it.
The Mezger engine is the "classic" 911 split-case, dry-sump engine and ours are based on the GT1 race car of the late 1990's. It's a stout race-proven design that can reliably support tremendous power output and sustained revs. Shame on me for linking to a different board, but here is a thread you might like: Mezger vs Newer - 6speedonline.com Forums

Thanks Chris for that link! Interesting to hear about the Switzer take on how tough those engines are....AND, no IMS issues to deal with!
Cheers!

Read the "Long and Winding Road" article in this month's Panorama. Not specific info about your Mezger engine, but really interesting history on Porsche engines and Mezger himself.
