996 Brake Lights Stay On

I'm looking for technical assistance for my 2002 Carrera Cab. It appears that it has developed the issue of having the brake lights on all of the time that the car is running, even though the brakes are not being applied.

Disconnect the brake light switch and see if they remain on. The switches do go bad. Here is the Pelican tech article on replacing the switch:

Thanks Scott. I've removed the brake switch and the brake lights are no longer on. So, I've order a new brake switch and as soon as I receive it and install it, we'll see if this corrects the problem.
Thanks again.

I received the new brake switch from Pelican Parts and the good news is after installing it, the brake lights no longer stay on. The bad news is that they now don't work at all
I've checked and rechecked the connection to the bracket and wiring connector and both are fine. I then thought I'd go ahead and replace the fuse in the fuse box just in case, but unfortunately that didn't fix the problem either. Now I'm at a stand still and quite disappointed that I can't drive my cab and take advantage of the few great sunny days we have here in the northwest.

Check the switch that you just received, make sure with a multimeter that it's actually working.
