996 3.4 M96 oil scavenge oil pump removal.

Hi everyone,
Does anyone know whether the scavenge oil pump on the right hand side of the engine at the rear can be removed with the exhaust in place? I need to replace the oil "O" ring on it to fix a leak. In Wayne's book I can see a picture of the pump being removed with a couple of levers but this was with the engine out,so no exhaust. Any help appreciated, thanks.

No, the exhaust is not in the way. Skip Wayne's book and get a copy of the Bentley 996 manual, it is covered in detail with photos and diagrams starting on page 17-11.
