Clutch due ?

How do you know if your clutch is getting worn and can it be adjusted. Goes into gear a little harder than before. Thanks.

I take it this is for the '02 996? Can you start with some basic info about the car...mileage, service history... When was the last time the clutch was bled? I'd probably start there and see how it feels. What about trans fluid? The fluid is critical to smooth operation and not any trans fluid will work. If you do the clutch the trans will be out and that's the perfect time to put in Porsche trans fluid.
Depending on how the clutch is used, it could last from 40 to 80,000 miles. If it's the original clutch it is 12 years old and may have worn down to the rivets. The fingers on the pressure plates also get weaker with use, causing the clutch to not let the trans shift properly. So if you decide to service the clutch, get an entire kit with TO bearing as well. These clutches are not adjustable BTW.

A test that has stood the test of (my) time, if the car shudders when you're in Reverse, idling back easily, time to change it.

Mine has almost 100k, if it wasn't changed when it had a new motor put in at~ 35k. No issues so far. Used to be a 50k job but now I've heard of ones going to 150k.
