1999 C4 Oil Cooler
My 996 engine has a bad mix of oil and water...
Before I pull the engine looking for a cracked head Is there anything else that could cause the oil and water to mix ? Specifically I was thinking about the oil cooler... Has anybody been through this problem with an oil cooler ? A Porsche mechanic told me that the 1999 models had problems with the oil Separator but I don't think that it would involve the cooling system ?? any Ideas appreciated I don't want to pull the engine and then find out that I didn't need to

AOS (oil Separator) has water running through it. So it is possible to get oil/water contamination.
Oil cooler is another possibility. That said many have changed both of the above components with no success. Most common 3.4ltr engine intermix problems is cracked head. Which can be fixed.
