997 & I Phone

I have the stock radio with NAV in my 06 997. I would like to be able to use and aux cord or Blue tooth from my I Phone. Any suggestions?

Depends on how involved you want to get and price you want to spend.

Cheap end is Tranzit-Blu which uses the FM antenna in coupled with a bluetooth connection. Gives you an bluetooth streaming for music and wireless calling. Cheap at 75 from Amazon.

Higher end is Mobridge and Dension. They mimic having a factory iPod hookup. Gives you bluetooth streaming for music, wireless calling but integrates into the heading so it shows phonebook, caller ID, song title, etc. Also has USB input for hard drives and iPod direct hook up if you want to leave a dedicated iPod. Cost is 450 or so, plus installation.

I personally have the Dension and love it. Put it in myself, wasn't difficult. Enough tutorials online.

I've used a transit BLU for over a year now and love it. It also gives you the song/caller text on the car displays. Streaming music over Bluetooth loses a little quality due to compression but I find it good enough. If you're a serious audiophile then it may annoy you. Works great for hands free calling and texting too. You have to buy the correct antenna adaptor for it and it connects thru the FM antenna on the stock radio so it still overwrites an FM channel but it's actually hardwired in so it's better quality and there's no interference. The Rennlist 997 forum has a good write-up on installation so I just installed it myself within a couple hours.

I installed this into my 996. Works great, very pleased with the BlueTooth functionality. Just what I was looking for.
