Cyl 1 Misfire, Cyl 2 Misfire, Multiple Random Misfires

I posted this in the Boxster/Cayman forum with no responses - I think it's mostly crickets in there. Much more activity here.

My 2006 CS started running rough on my way to work yesterday, started to feel like a diesel and sounded terrible. Luckily no "metal on metal" clanking noises.

I'm perplexed as to the cause. I've heard of the cam lift/timing solenoids failing over time, but I think that would have an effect on all 3 cylinders on that side. I have a new set of coils & spark plugs, should I swap those in to hopefully fix the issue?

I'm at a loss. the OBD2 reader I have doesn't give much insight and I don't have a workshop manual.

Help?
