From documents found in the car I'm pretty sure this car had an IMS bearing failure, and had to have the engine replaced or rebuilt. I was told by the mechanic at the dealership that I bought it at that the engine had been replaced because he knew the guy who did it.
Where would I look on the engine so that I can figure out what I got? It's an 03 911 Carrera |

Along the oil sump rail you will find the engine numbers; if the number sequence contains the letters "AT" (replacement in German) you have a factory reman engine. Write down the entire sequence as you can use it to determine what engines it is.
