Question about airbox 2003 C4S
So I replaced my water pump and thermostat over the weekend and had a chance to pop the airbox open to check the condition of the filter. I noticed that in the bottom section there is a grill structure and what is left of a foam filter. Kinda looked like the type of foam you might find in a window air-conditioner. So I checked the online parts catalogue for a replacement but it isn't shown in the exploded view or PN list. Anyone run into this before and have a fix?

Mind snapping a picture by chance? Are you talking about the foam piece that sits in a small plastic frame within the air box itself? If so, from what I have found is that it's an airbox muffler, which essentially reduces air intake noise caused by vibrations. People will sometimes remove this to improve intake sound. I am not sure if there is a part number for that part as most people just toss it, but depending on the material you might be able to use a service kit on it.

That's the part I'm talking about (small plastic curved frame). The thirteen year old foam was FUBAR so I removed it. I called the local Porsche dealer about it and they were no help. I do have some sheet filter foam which I could cut to fit and reinstall if it is necessary. Since the old foam had deteriorated i was essentially running without it anyhow. What's the consensus?
