Unless you have the specialized tools to do this, I would suggest farming it out to a pro.

Garage
If you have the box out of the car its just a matter of removing a dozen or so fasteners that hold the box case halves together; there is one fastener that is located in a narrow bore, just grind down a sacrificial socket . The pita is the blend flap doors when you put things back together its an alignment task with the door pivots. Why you are at it look at the foam seals on the blend door edges, replace them new closed cell rubber foam.

You need a gas recovery unit, a system flushing unit to remove any debris and the old system oil, an oil measure and injection unit, a can of the correct system oil a gauge set, fresh gas, and a good vacuum pump.

The car is up on stands from when I pulled engine&trans out doing ims aos clutch waterpump etc. a buddy is ex ac guy and has all that stuff. I just have to get the box out of the car and change the coil and put the box back. I would like a book or video covering box removal.

Unless someone has independently done one, I don't think you are going to find one outside of the factory service manuals or the PIWIS TSI factory technical subscription service. Good luck.

Not 100% sure however this might be a consideration: 101 Projects Website

Either way it's might be a good book to have laying around if you are attempting to get into these sorts of projects on your own...

GL to you.
