996tt

Hi, am close to buying a 04 996tt with under 15k miles, one owner car, from a Porsche dealer. Car is very clean and appears all original with no accidents or issues.. Dealer says car is mint. Have requested a dme report, only concern I have is they say history isn't available, will ask again for them to contact owner for records. A PPI from them, seems pointless, unless I bring it to another P-shop. Since car has such low mileage, what would need to be changed? Usual items like Coolant lines, clutch cylinders? Thanks

I believe a dealer should be able to bring up records using the car's vin #, also a PPI is very important - so bring it to non-bias shop to inspect. Let us know if you decide to pick it up; sounds amazing with just 15k miles!

Thks agreed. Dealer is to contact orig owner for records and will provide DME report. Car actually had original tires still on it, they just replaced them. If all checks out it will have a new home.

I bought my 02 with 18k on it. After 1k, it developed a drip from the oil tank. The drip got worse and necessitated a new tank. To do that you need to drop the motor. While I'm in there, welded the coolant pipes and had new turbos installed (one of the originals was leaky). 26k now and all is well.

Okay just received dme report and ignitions appears ok, but the mileage seems off??
Number of ignitions range 1 - 630 @ 320 hrs
Number of ignitions range 2 - 5 @ 251 hrs
Total hrs 397
Control unit coding shows Total distance is 17838km (11084 miles), however the odometer has 20221km (12564 miles). Shouldn't they be the same??
Regarding the coolant lines a nearby P-shop recommends welding them at a scary cost of 5k.. thanks..
