Pulley on AC Compressor spin freely?

Hi Everyone,

This is really just a yes or no question because I'm pretty ignorant about all of this.

Does the AC compressor pulley around which the serpentine goes spin freely when the belt is out. I can spin that little guy and it keeps on spinning like a well-oiled machine. I'm confused because I don't feel any resistance whatsoever. The same is true with a couple of other pulleys in there.

Yes, it should spin freely until the A/C is turned on and the clutch engages
