Acceleration "slip"
Recent problem popped up on my 2001 996 Cabrio C2. As a side note: IMS has NOT been replaced or a problem.
When I accelerate in 3rd or 4th, I mean really getting on the throttle, I get a brief rise in RPM and speed, then a drop in RPM (up to 1500) feels like a "slip" in speed and then it kicks back into the throttle. I can't find a reason for this issue. Anyone have any thoughts/experience with this issue?? |

It could be oil dripping from IMS door or RMS onto flywheel or clutch too. Either way, clutch is likely problem. Don’t think you can clean off oil either, will need to replace disc.
Here is the opportunity to do the IMS too. |

Thanks guys. I was thinking clutch, it is original. Will do the IMS at the same time.

Dmitry: thanks for checking in. No fault codes that I can find/read. I do believe it's clutch time. Plan on doing the IMS and maybe improving the flywheel as well.
