Driver's seat belt fault
Hi
I have had 2 episodes in my 99 996 where the airbag warning light came on. Each time it was when I started up a cold engine and fastened the seat belt. Light came on and did not go out for the whole trip. Each time I got home and hooked up the Durametric-it said "driver's seat belt" under the airbag module. Each time I erased it. So My question is-what triggers this fault? The only wires on the 99 belts appear to be at the buckle in between the seats. Just replace this? Maybe switch with the passenger buckle? Thanks for any answers or discussion. |

Take a look at the link below to an earlier thread where this is discussed. There appears to be a kit to fix this too.

Thank you Dmitry! Can anyone explain the mode of the failure or fault? Is it simply surface contamination on the contact surfaces in the buckle circuit?
