Gearbox atf oil

Am i right in thinking when i change the tiptronic gearbox atf oil that the atf oil should be RED in colour .Just that when i saw them change an automatic gearbox on a 986 Boxster on Wheeler s Dealers it was a clear colour.

ATF color is dye, so you can make it just about any color you want, or no color at all.....

Not quite, you need an ATF that meets the specs for your transmission; not all ATF's are the same, and using the wrong one can kill the gear box.

I have decided i am just going to top it up to the right level for now,
Can you mix ATF oil,as not sure whats in there
.like if it clear in there and i put red in ,or other way round

If it is at 60k miles, change the Tipt fluid.
