Here come's the Wide One!
Well that's the best name I could come up with. Almost done at the bodyshop. Hopefully she''l be licensed and on the streets around the Woodlands in a couple of weeks. If you see a big goofus guy with a smile a mile wide... that'd be me, be sure and wave.

After 12+months the Wide One finally comes home. Here's a few photos of her arrival.
Next step is insurance, licensing & state inspection. After that get the suspension set-up, then the interior and all those miscellaneous details that prevent a project every really being finished. See you on the street.

I'm working on getting classic car insurance right now. Grundy is mailing me an app. The gotta put a license out back. Then back to the bodyshop for a few more issues -- elecrical mostly; one of the H4's is not lighting, and signal lights don't work. I hate messing w/electrics.
Notice that Mike Richey w/the gulf / orange RS has posted over in the 911 forum. I've sent him an email, maybe he'll join in. Big family event Mar 17th, my daughter's wedding, kinda been a big distraction. After that's finished I'll be able to put more effort into the Wide One.

Fortunately, my insurance saw it this way and covered damage from an off course excursion at Texas World Speedway. A timed event does not fall into this category...that is considered competition. Lap times = no coverage.

Good to know. Thanks Chris. I plan on some DEs one I get the suspension and front brakes upgraded. You should take your monster out to see how your new suspension and exhaust improve performance.

I am! This Thursday at Motorsports Ranch Houston. The national 2K7 Supra weekend starts there. Just ordered some Pagid yellow brake pads and Motul. There is another secret weapon...hybrid turbos and programming will be going on this weekend. I plan to kick some Supra tail (in a non-competition sort of way).
BTW, sorry for the thread hijack.

Enjoy your TWS weekend. Here's how I'm spending mine.
That's my daughter BTW.Wedding is Saturday. Reception on the Paddle Wheeler in Lake Conroe. Afterwards they wanted to ride off into the sunset in the 911. Naw. Take a limo. There's some things a Dad won't do for his daughter. Besides I still haven't got insurance for the WideOne. Insurance! Got the Grundy quote today, numbers look good. But I'm hung up on the restrictions about track use etc. I don't mind if they exclude any damage sustained from autoXing (unlikely) or DE (possible HMMM), but the way the restriction is worded doesn't seem to offer the opportunity to say -- Yes, Im going to autoX and DE, but No, I'll make no damage claims resulting from those events. Any opinions?
