That is a nice car..the air filter is a pain to change but it was a solid example of the quattro technology and a great driving car. Post some pics..lets get this forum going.

Yes it has potential - let's get the forum going. The 4000 is a great car. It was my first car. If it's clean, and only has that many miles, it's a keeper. There's not much to go wrong. Put some photos up...as I am now feeling sentimental...

Chris: My first Audi was an '87 4000Q. Loved that car; have owned 4 other Quattros since.

CIS car, so if you're at all familiar w/CIS Porsches you'll feel right at home.

4KQs are nose heavy and tend to collect leaves & other debris just forward of the front cowl, blocking drains and sometimes a rust area. Sagging headliners common, as are slow/inop sunroof. Sunroof cables a PITA to replace, so clean & lube. OEM radiators have composite tanks; heat cycles make them brittle & crack/leak at the base of the neck or upper hose fitting.

Lemme know if you end up getting/wrenching on this 4KQ; I may still have some spares . . . .
