Space-Saver Rim/Tire for 2012 AUDI-TT Coupe

Hi Guys, Gals,
I have recently acquired a 2012-AUDI-TT-Coupe that just came off a lease. The 1st thing I noticed when going through it before the purchase was the absence of a Space-Saver Spare Rim & Tire. The Sales Associate remarked that all US AUDI-TT's
do not come with a Space-Saver. I know that to be incorrect, as I have a colleague that has one in his early-TT Coupe. My question to all of you out there is:will any 17" VW-GOLF, or Audi Space-Saver do the trick, or do I have some sort of an off-set issue to deal with? In examining the space and location for it beneath the rear trunk, I see where the left side of the under-area appears to be truncated, and that Black Styrofoam might have to be altered a bit to accept the curvature of the Space-Saver-tire.
I'd appreciate any an all feed-back since this is my 1st AUDI after some 58-years of owning, restoring and driving a Porsche. I figure this will be my last car, considering my location on the Life-cycle curve.
