Gasoline leak
Here's a problem. When I start my Passat (a 1.8t 2001) gasoline leaks from the fuel line just past the fuel filter on the way to the engine. I have tried tightening the clamp where the hose fits onto the filter nipple, but that doesn't work. The hose doesn't seem to be cracked. What might be causing this?

I'd get in there and double check to make sure there are no lines that are cracked causing it to leak. Hoses can get old and harden. Might be time to replace the hose and clamp.

+1 or it's very possible the hose is seeping. The hose could be hardened and cracked or it just could have gotten brittle around the clamp so fuel is seeping through the rubber. Definitely take care of it soon, I've seen too many cars catch fire because of a little leak. Is it around the clamp or is the leak closer to the middle of the hose?
