1995 M3 cd changer
Recently purchased a 1995 M3. It does not have the factory CD changer in the trunk but has the wiring. I'm looking for the part number to the factory changer or even an after market cd changer that will work. If anyone has one for sale I may be interested in that. Alpine or whatever will work. Rick

Crutchfield has an aftermarket one that works. It's not cheap, though...
Hunh, I had posted pics of it in an earlier thread, but that seems to have scrolled off the BBS. Oh well. --DD

This is the one that I wound up getting for Mom:
http://www.crutchfield.com/cgi-bin/S-z5HrS4rBSaB/ProdView.asp?s=0&c=3&g=65500&I=581B2D&o=m&a=1&cc=01 ...Aaaaah, crap! I just noticed that it is listed as only fitting 96+ 3-series cars. They don't have anything specifically listed for the 95s. --DD

Changing the head unit is much better than installing the aftermarket CD changer. I just changed mine a couple of weeks ago, and it sounds a lot better than the factory radio/casset unit.
It even costs less than the CD changer. I ordered an Alpine CDA-9805 from Crutchfield and it came with all the accessaries and adapters (you don't need PAC OEM adapter though $29.99). Installation wasn't that hard.

I have a BMW Factory CD Changer in perfect working condition that I believe will fit. It has the mounting bracket and should be a direct plug in fit. If you are interested contact me at musicmaker1@earthlink.net

I have a '97 328i & I am looking for the factory CD changer. I can find one for around $270 shipped. Does anyone know where I can find one cheaper?

MusicMaker, I tried to send you an email but got a delivery error message. Can anyone here confirm that the '94 changer will work for my '97 328i? All the changers I have found are spec'd for '96 & up indicating the older models have different specs. Anyone?

Metroporter, The CD Changer is manufactured by Pioneer for BMW. The model number is 88 88 1 600 284 P. Your local BMW dealer should be able to tell you if it will fit your car. The pioneer is smaller than the Alpine which is the other manufacturer of BMW CD changers.
