89 325 Ic Information Center mounting

Have a 89 325 Ic and my info center (with all the idiot lights) is held in with a matchbook. Are there clips or something that holds this in and if so where can I get them?

Thanks in advance.....

It is the unit between the sunvisors with all the little idiot lights in it. Any ideas?

Still looking for any information on how this unit is held in place. Please, the matchbook holding it in is starting to look a little goofy.

It should just push right in. There are clips on the unit itself.

There are no clips on it. It is just a square box? Can't see any signs of where clips were broken off either. Please help, my wife is really starting to bug me about the matchbook holding it in.

Check the inside of the housing. There may be a clip missing

if it as a clothcover as a bezel it just gently prys out, then so does the in display. behind the unit ther are expandable clips, kind of like the ons you would find on the window switchs, it all just pops in and out. at least it should.

See the following link for some pictures I just took of it. I do not see any clips. Maybe I am missing a bezel or something?

Mount problem

I really appreciate your help.

Those pics are too blurry for me to make sense of.

Like javier says, there are clips behind the unti that hold it in place. Im thinking they are missing in your case.

Can you unplug the unit from the harness? it looks like your missing those clips i mentioned. Do you have a local dealer in your area? Or you might want to check this out with a local mech that you trust who knows BMWs only.

ok, guess I will try the local dealer. There are no clips on it at all, just a plastic retainer molded into only the bottom portion.

Jonathan it most diffenitly looks your missing the metal clips that hold it in place, it also appears that the edge around the vinyl piece might be a bit worn also, this could still cause it to fall even with new clips. your in Van Nuys? so am I call me I'll try and tell you what to do. 1888-280-7799 ex 239
