M Logo M3 rear susp toe bushing

My '97 coupe definitely has the symptom of toe bushings that are going bad (rear end wants to come around under acceleration while cornering).

The Bentley manual has you remove the suspension arms to then R&R the busing using a press. I hear that the BMW dealers have a tool which enables them to do this in place without removing the susp arms from the car.

My question: has anyone here that works on their own car know where to get the necessary tool for changing the bushings in place? Has anyone here done it himself?

As far as i know, the arms must be removed to remove the bushings. I dont think you would be able to get any clearance for the tool if it was on the car.

As for the tool, you would have to get it from the dealer, providing that it is still available, and if they are willing to sell it to you.

BTW, the folks at vpd now sell a RTAB tool for an affordable 90 bucks.

Not much more expensive than renting the tool and paying shipping to/from, and you'll own the tool.
