New BMW owner questions
Hi all. Been lurking the forums for a short while since I have been shopping for a used BMW. Just picked up a 1990 325is with 158K miles on it. Overall in good shape but does need several minor things.
First off, are power antena's repairable? This one is stuck up and still makes noise when starting/stopping the car. Secondly, I've found that ignition parts for this car are much pricier than any domestic I've ever had. What is their longevity like in comparison? And what is so special about the plug wire set to cost a couple hundred bucks? TIA Ron |

Sounds like the plastic guide tube inside the antenna is broken. Pelican sell a kit to repair this along with a new mast. It does involve you taking the antenna assembly apart.
I cant give you a specific answer as to ignition pricing, however, the loom is constructed in a way that it is specific to the car and also contains the sender for the crankshaft position sender. |
