'89 E30 - CD Changer Location and Cable
Friend just picked up a '89 E30 ic. He has a 6 CD Changer from '98 E36 and is looking to put it in the '89. There is no cable already in place, but the radio has a pre-out connection for the changer. Can he use the old (newer) changer in the new (older) car? Any source for factory cable? Can Pelican provide??
Thanks.

The E30 wer not prewired for cds, as were the e36 was, but the 98 used a sysytem called I-BUS this being the case I beleive that this cd is not compatible with your head unit.

You will have to run wiring for the changer, and get a changer compatible head unit, as the stock tape deck has no provision for a changer.
