dash
I need to take apart my dash in order to service part of my A/C unit. In past experiences with other cars, figuring out how to take the dash apart is a pain the first time although more times then not its really simple if you know what your doing... can anyone tel me how to take a 92 325i dash apart or maybe a site which would tell me. thanks...

bentley manual explains it in detail. i read the procedure and it did not look like an easy job. the good news is that you don't have to worry about airbags.

What part of the A/C are you working on?

well... before i thought I only had one problem but it appears now that i have 2.
1) the fan only works on the fourth position and I heard something about the use of resistors to decrease the fan speed for setting 1/2/3 and that they need to be replaced?? and also that this is located somewhere in the dash over the passenger side. 2) Heat works fine, however A/C does not..... i know there are several components to the system. how does one go about figuring out which component is bad? -- J |

As it turns out, it seems only the fan works (in position 4 only) heat nor a/c appear to work except when the thermostat went, then the heat appeared to work ALL too well....
Any suggestions on where to start my hunt? |

If i remember correctly the fan is accessable from the firewall and so are the switch resisters. I know the E30s are that way and i want to say that I had mine out in the E36 too.
