Thanks to Jared

This Pelican board (and store) rocks! As I've found many times before on the 911 side, people here are willing to help, even if it means potential $ out of their pocket.

Anyway, I called Pelican today to order a fuel pump for my '89 325is. My credit card was ready. I was transferred to Jared. Instead of taking my order for the pump, he gave me some more things to check before spending $175 on a pump. Most people would have just taken my credit card # and been done with it. It was dark when I got home from work so no report yet, but I've got something to do in the morning, and for now, a bit more $ in my bank account. And I know that if I have any more questions, this board is ready to help.

Definately above and beyond the call of duty, Jared.

Thanks,
Jim

Update:

Performed a bunch of electrical system tests; everything checked out, but still no pump. Pulled out the pump and applied 12 volts, nothing. Accidently bumped the pump while it was on the bench, and violla, it turned on! Blew it out with compressed air, cleaned the screen, and put it back in the car.

The car fired right up.

I'm still thinking that I should order a pump (from Pelican!) to be safe, any suggestions? Could it be an intermittant electrical problem in the pump motor, or something (debris) causing the pump to stick?

Anyway, Jared, for now, has saved me $175. Thanks.

Jim

BTW, the car sure looks dirty now! I think I need to give it a good wash tommorrow

Jim...Ill eho you on that by saying that its great to have a "support" group whenever youve got a problem youre just up against a wall with.

Furthermore, my hat is off to all the employees of Pelican as they are allways very professional and very curteous when I drive up to pick parts up at their rear door and spring cash on them.......I think theyre getting use to me...hahah.

Dave.

Hey, I have to agree with you both on the service at Pelican. A few weeks ago I ordered a TPS switch and fuel pressure regulator, not only were they well priced, but Jared offered tech help with articles he emailed to me. Last week I ordered my new cat from Pelican and have to say you guys were by far the cheapest compared to any other part supplier. Thanks to all at Pelican-

What you can't find a parking spot for your Humvee?
I'm reminded of the old joke...
"were does a 500 gorilla sit to eat it's lunch?......"

ANY WERE HE WANTS!

Park it over that little 914 thats in our lot, or over the RX7 that sometimes shows up...

sorry guys just kidding.

You could just have em tow that 914 out here to free up the spot for you. Pelican Parts would surely donate it to you and write it off as a customer satisfcation cost, and you would just have to pay shipping to my location. I mean, after all, you can afford a Hummer, why not have the best parking spot for it. :-)
