How hard is it to replace the waterpump

How hard is it to replace the water pump on a BMW 325e?

Is my best choice to take it to a mechanic?

any advise will be greatly appreciate it.

Shouldnt be too hard, I've heard people changed them in 15-20 min. Might as well replace the belts, thermostat, and thermostat housing (aluminum) while you're at it. Make sure you get a metal impellar h2o pump.

On a 325e? Ok you are talking about an E30, not an E36. This makes it a bit easier.

he hardest part of it is simply remembering where all the hoses go. The other hardest part is locking the fan clutch so you can remove it from the fan. The large nut on the back of the fan clutch is reverse threaded too. If you give me a call, I can go into a little more detail for you. I would also highly reccomend that you repalce the timing belt at the same time, as the water pump housing acts as a pivot point for the timing belt tensioner.

hey, sorry I didnt see the 325e part. I just assumed people post in here with e36 specific questions. i hope you didnt start taking things apart on your car to find out the directions are wrong!
