I have a tech article coming up soon on this, if you can hold off for a few weeks. It's not that tough, but there are some 'gotchas' along the way...

If you cant wait, here's another article on the web.
http://www.logun.org/waterpmp.htm Shouldnt be too hard, I've heard people changed them in 15-20 min. Might as well replace the belts, thermostat, and thermostat housing (aluminum) while you're at it. Make sure you get a metal impellar h2o pump.

On a 325e? Ok you are talking about an E30, not an E36. This makes it a bit easier.
he hardest part of it is simply remembering where all the hoses go. The other hardest part is locking the fan clutch so you can remove it from the fan. The large nut on the back of the fan clutch is reverse threaded too. If you give me a call, I can go into a little more detail for you. I would also highly reccomend that you repalce the timing belt at the same time, as the water pump housing acts as a pivot point for the timing belt tensioner. 1-888-280-7799 ex. 259 |
