HELP! I'm a first time BMW owner

I just bought my first BMW...a '91 318i. I'm trying to find a shop manual for this thing, and can't find one anywhere. It needs a driver's side lower control arm, a brake job, driver's side fog light, and the front air dam. Do any of you know a good source for new and/or used parts online? I also need to find a shop manual. This is my first time on a forum, and have no idea what I'm doing, so I hope someone sees this and responds to it. Thanks for the help.

Congratulations!

Congratulations on your purchase. I would strongly recommend buying your parts here, as the prices and service are good, and it supports this site.

One of the first questions you need to answer as to your shop manual is if your car is e30 or e36, since both were made in that year. The e30 has four separate round headlights up front, wheres in the e36 it is all one unit. If you need more help looking up which you have, just look about on the internet. If it is an e30, you will have a hard time finding the manual for it. Probably your best be will be to get the Bentley manuals for both cars, because in that year the rest of the car was standard e30 pretty much, and the engine was the newer model from the e36.
So, engine = e36, everything else =e30. Transmission is probably somwhat different, as well.

By the way, did you purchase a 1991 318i or a 1991 318iS?
The 1991 318iS is considered by many to be one of the finest BMW's ever made, and if that's what you have, YOU LUCKY DOG!

I would reccommend getting the Bentley manual for you car. Thye are a bit pricey, but they are the best manual available short of the factory ones.

Thanks for the help, you guys. So I've got a hybrid car....that's something new for me. Bentley says that I have to buy two manuals to cover the complete car. I ordered the lower control arm from Pelican today. Good price, and the guy I spoke with was very knowledgeable. Now I need a source for used parts...I need a fog light assembly and the front air dam. Any good ideas? Carolinus, I checked and the car is not a 318is. Thanks for mentioning that to me, though.
