Air Intake

All, can someone tell what the part number is for the K&N air intake kit?
Also, should i definitely install the heatshield at the same time as the air intake or is it something that I can do later on down the road? Can I trust the heatshields that are being sold on ebay?

A custom heat shield really is the only way to go here. The heat shields they sell on ebay really dont do a good job of keeping the hot air out of the intake. You would need to fabricate a custom shield and figure out a way to snorkel the outside air into the engine compartment.

what about the air intake kits they sell on ebay? some are K&N's and some appear to be generic...i'd buy K&N's off the shelf but can seem to get the part number...are they discontinued?

Ok, once again, the heat shields they sell on ebay really dont do a good job of keeping the hot air out of the intake. What you need is a K&N universal fit cone filter that will fit around the AFM, and also a custom bracket to adapt it on. If you give me a call i will go over in detail what you need.

thats understood Jared (not buying a heatshield on Ebay), with regards to purchasing on Ebay I was referring to the K&N intake kits themselves, not the heatshield. I'll give you a buzz later on to discuss. Thanks!

you will need both the filter and the plate.
