Okay driving home last night my passenger side side mirror went crazy. It just started panning out. By hitting the switch, and thereby engaging the motor, it would stop... for a few seconds then start doing it again. I tried switching the contols so that they could only move the driver's side, and the mirror STILL did it...
Anyone have any ideas? Anyone heard of this before? As an aside, how the hell do you get the side mirrors open? I tried taking them off from the inside, no luck. Took off the bottom cap peice, nope.... how do you get the mirror off to check out the internals? |

Sound like you have a short somewhere in the switch, causing it to activate. I would reccommend taking the switch out and cleaning the contacts.
To remove the mirrors, look at the bottom of the housing. You will see a small hole. If you stick a small screwdriver in there and slide the tab to wither side,it will disengage the mirrors. |
