trim parts
I'd like to replace the drip molding on my 95 325is. It's the piece that runs along the top of the front window then rearward along the top of the rear side glass. It's a long piece of plastic. I may have the name wrong.
Anyone familier with this? Seems easy to do. ASLO: I'm looking at replacing all the weather stripping associated with the side glass behind the doors. I was thinking of ordering the parts and having a body shop handle this. Anyone have experience with this? I figure a body shop has a lot of experience with doing this rather than my local BMW repair shop. The labor is likely much less too. The rubber is getting bad and sometimes leaks into the car. Also the inside trim doesn't stay put (the part on the inside that surrounds the rear side glass). The glue is not holding, but is tacky/gummy. Are these parts available through sources other than the dealer? Like at Peican Parts?? -------------------- David S '95 325is, arctic gray “Well, we’ve dutifully covered it, sent our writers off to drive it, photographed it from every angle, and analyzed the snot out of it. From Roundel to local chapter newsletters, its funny little face has stared out at readers, but I think it’s time to move on to real Bimmers.” Dave Farnsworth, on the Mini Cooper- SEP02 Roundel, pg 20 |

I'm looking for the black metal trim piece (drip molding??) that runs along the top of the car over the door window rearward over the coupe glass. On my 92 325is, it's black in color.
Next is the rubber piece that sits on the outside and at the bottom of the coupe window. It sits horizontal to the ground and is secured with a sort of double sided tape. Lastly- the rubber gasket surrounding the side coupe glass that the glass presses against. Are they easy to change out? I'd like to do it myself, but don't know where to start, and cannot find any DIY help online. Appreciate the help! |
