I have never heard of tyfoon motor sports. If it is a normal cone intake with a heatshield, it isn't too hard. If the directions from the DIY dont work, ask again.

Keep in mind that you will need to isolate the filter from the hot engine air inside the engine bay. Failure to do so can actually cause you to make LESS horsepower. You need to have a way to completely seal it off.

Yes, if you want the cone filter to work properly. However the heat shields I have seen on the market really arent effective, they merely cover one side of the filter, you have to enclose it completely if you want it to work right

You don't HAVE to get a heatshield, but if you want performance gains to complement the new sound you'll get, a heatshield will help significantly. You'll notice most aftermarket suppliers of cold air intakes include a heatshield with their product. Dinan and benfer are the only one who dont, simply because they position the filter away from the engine and next to the foglight.

I am currently in the process of building a shield to envclose the filter on my own car. I have removed the driver's side high beam to increse the amount of oncoming air, and let me t3ell you i can really feel the difference at highway speed. Car puls much easier and harder.

Typhoon's Air intake is a true COLD air intake not a COOL air intake...it, like the dinan, places the filter down near the foglights and doesn't need a heatshield.....I just bought one off ebay for 50 bucks because I have had a few people rave about them and how they work and they cost a fraction of the price.....go check it out on ebay....typhoonmotorsports is the guy who sells them....but I haven't gotten mine and dunno how I'm gunna install it!
