1995 318ti ran fine. Parked for two weeks. Would not start. Battery fine. Dash lights fine. All electrics work. Turn key to start position and nothing happens. No clicks, nothing. No power to the starter. Tried with clutch in, with manual trans in neutral, nothing. Bad relay?

If it was parked for 2 weeks, I'd point my finger towards the battery. How do you know that the battery is fine? Have you tried jump starting? Mine went dead after 3 weeks and it wouldn't jump with normal cables. I had to get AAA with their heavy duty cables to jump the car. You can get your battery recharged and tested at Autozone, it turned out mine needed replacing. Hope this helps.

Thanks for your reply. We push started the car and got it home. Tried to jump start with a battery pack, nothing. Charged battery anyway. Took the car to a service center, very reputable, where they replaced the starter relay. Nothing. Car was now shipped to their main center where a new team is trying to figure out what is going on. They told me yesterday that they have been in touch with BMW. The mystery continues. 5 days and counting.

this is another advantage of having a manual transmission! just push it if you can't start it for one reason or another.

Well if you replaced the relay, I'd suspect the starter or possibly a loose starter cable. The starter itself may be bad, however starters usually show some symptoms before they fail, like slow cranking or grinding.

Could be as simple as a stuck solenoid, give it a firm “whack” with a rubber mallet.
