My gas door flops around. I was told that it should lock closed but it is not working. I have only had the car a month so I'm not sure how it is supposed to lock shut.
The locking mechanism inside the gas door area is in the open/unlock position and doesn't seem to move. I would prefer to fix the problem rather than put velcro or a magnet on the fuel door. If you have any tips or advice It would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Joel

It locks when you lock the doors. Took me a while to figure that one out, too... There's an emergency release inside the trunk, underneath the felt stuff that covers the right side of the trunk.

The spring that holds it closed may be broken. Should put up some effort when opening. When the spring breaks, door flops around.

Thanks Dave & Drew for the tips and suggestions.
I tried the "double lock" thing and it seems that the mechanism isnt working. I found the emergency release as suggested and it seems there is a problem with the mechanism itself, there is no tension on the pull. BTW- thanks, I didn't know that was there! ![]() I'm going to get a better look by pulling the trunk liner out of the way so I can gain access to the latch and I'll let you guys know what I find, thanks for the help! Joel
