94 318i AC problem

Last night I got in the car and turned on the AC. The compressor kicked in but no air came out. So I tried messing around with the temperature setting...tried making it hot...nothing. After a couple of hours, I got back in and what do you know....the AC works but on the highest setting there was a weird sound coming from the dash. Now....no air is coming out whatsoever. What could cause this? No air for either the AC or heater. Like I said, I hear the compressor kick in.....

Sounds like the blower motor isnt working, check the fuse first.

I dont think its the fuse because during the last couple of days, the heater has all of a sudden starting working while driving. If I shut the engine down once I arrive wherever I am going...and then start it back up....the blower isnt working again. Guess I need to replace the blower. how difficult is it to do on my own? Oh...when the blower was working....it was making a funky sound...like something was caught in the vent....like a card flapping. Also....I noticed that even when the blower is working....the heater only heats the car while driving on the highway......in other words...I would not be able to heat the car up in the morning before getting in for it would not blow out hot air while idling. What would cause this?

Once you get that blower motor fixed, then you can start looking at other issues as to whether or not you are getting heat (meaning flow through the heater core). Definitely sounds like you have something caught in your blower...

No I have not checked to see if anything is stuck in the blower....how would I check it? It does make sense as before it stopped it was sounding as if something was caught in there.

One of the blowers in my car squeeks as it turns. I've been tempted to spray the inside of the vent with WD40, but I keep thinking that it would come right back out at me when I turned the blower on...

These things are located behind the dash, and are not easy to get to...
