Sun Visors

HI,

I have a 1989 325i convertible and the visors will not stay up. Is there anything I can do, besides replace them, to get them to stay up.

Also when I first crank the car, the rpm fluctuates around 500 rpm, them when the car warms up it smoothes out. Any ideas?

Thanks

I had the identical problem. Had to buy new ones on Ebay. Mine is also a cabrio/convert. I think that the odd bit of water dripping onto the visor causes it. If your roof seal leaks, or when the roof is opened after car wash/ rain, the water gets into the metal bar that the visor hinges on. Then the metal sleeve inside the visor starts binding and the whole spring clip thingy just trashes itself over the months/years.

By the way they are the same as the 5 series (E28)
