e 36 control arm bushing

Hi

I am at a loss. I replaced both front control arms and had a tool made to press the control arm bushing in to the housing(being careful to align the marks.

I went to the dealer today to buy the special lube part #
81 22 9 407 284 and was informed this has been discontinued with no new part #.

How do I get the bushings on the control arm, and on the ground in 30 min.

The control arms are installed on the car.

Thank you

Mike

Use dishwasher soap and water, I did and had no problems pushing the mounts on

You dont need to lock the bushing on. As long as it is in the relative position to the metal mount, it should be fine.

Hey that worked !
Do I need am alignment?
The manual said to measure the distance from the edge of the bushing to the edge of the control arm.

I did this and set them however they seem to have center them selves. Is thios a problem?

Thanks

Mike
