BMW Roundel lost windshield wiper home position

How do I adjust the windshield wiper "home" position. My wipers now stop right in the middle of my windshield...

What exactly happened before it did this? Did you move the wipers at all?

BMW Roundel can't find their way homer

The BMW tech I took this car to in Alaska did correct this problem once, (I don't remember buying a new relay), therefore leading me to believe that there is an adjustment. I do not have a repair manual for this car, would like to do most of my own work though, what is the best manual out there??

Also, I'm in need of a set of front spoiler mounted foglights, they both caught rocks on the drive from Alaska to Vermont Anybody got a parts car or an know of an outlet that won't gouge me??

Not sure on the wipers but....when you get the fogs also get some clear lense covers from some of the aftermarket supply guys or...clear vinyl from someone like armorfend. I have replaced mine twice as was able to get them relatively cheap.

Wipers out of position

This morning when I started the car I noticed my wife left the wipers on and they tried to move but could not. Then the passenger side melted and moved up but the driver's side didn't move, then the passenger side went down adn the driver's side went down, I think bending it up pretty good in the process.

I will check the bentley but man I was pissed this morning.

I have maybe a different but related problem. The wipers quit. I tried the diagnostic procedures in the Bentley book and couldn't get the motor to run at all, so I got a new motor. Now the wipers just stop wherever they are when I turn them off, and they only run at high speed. The washer still works.

So where do the speed control and parking functions live? Are there contacts in the motor that tell it where to park, as in some other cars? I presume the speed control is provided by the wiper control unit in the relay box, but I swapped that out with a good unit to no avail. The switch is only a few years old as well.

Any ideas?

I think the speed control is controlled merely by the rheostat in the switch on the dash, however what you are describing sounds like another problem realted to the heater blower. In that case, when the resistors in the circuit get fried, it only allows the fan to blow on high speed. Dont think there are any resistors in the wiper motor though.

I would check the wiper control unit, perhaps it was bad in the first place?
